The plough and the stars is a four act play by the irish writer sen ocasey that was first performed on february 8 1926 at the abbey theatre it is set in dublin and addresses the 1916 easter rising the plays title references the starry plough flag which was used by the irish citizen army. Ford concentrated on the nationalist part of the struggle and while the plough and the stars might be a bit too much like a photographed stage play its still good drama more ford than ocasey though.
